Step inside our farm shop and you’ll find shelves filled with the flavours of Wildebraam; handcrafted preserves, small‑batch liqueurs, farm‑made treats and a selection of beautiful cheeses from The Cheese Shop just down the road.
It’s an extension of our tasting room, a place where visitors linger, sample, discover and choose the flavours they love most.
Here, tasting is part of the experience. Guests often wander from jar to jar, comparing favourites, debating sweet versus savoury, and finding that one preserve they simply can’t leave behind. Some build picnic baskets for a day in the valley, others gather gifts for birthdays, Christmas or a thoughtful “just because.” There’s something deeply satisfying about choosing a flavour that feels like it was made just for you.
In 2025, Wildebraam Berry Estate struck double gold at the South African Preserve Championships, hosted by Agri Expo. Our Maketaan Preserve and Sweet Pepper Jam received top honours; a reminder that when it comes to flavour, we do more than preserve, we perfect. This recognition reflects the craft, care and unmistakable Swellendam spirit that goes into every jar. From vine to spoon, from sweet to savoury, we remain committed to preserving South African excellence.
The celebration didn’t stop there. Our Strawberry Jam and Pineapple Passion Fruit Jam were awarded Silver, while our Green Fig Preserve and Tomato and Pepper Jam earned Bronze. To see our jars shine with medals — little golden badges of honour; is a privilege we don’t take lightly. Each award feels like a nod to the hands that stir the pots, the fruit grown in our valley and the generations of tradition behind every recipe.
